"Before I cooperated, I tried to do everything the government asked. But now I'm going to be strong. I have a lot of questions about this decision and I want answers. The situation is crazy. Circoloco started a movement in Ibiza. We brought the underground people together. This is ridiculous. I've put 100% of my heart into this club and I'm going to fight for it."

Whatever his choice his loyalty to the club is absolute and he firmly rules out a move to another venue: "Circo Loco was born in DC10 and it's not going to another club, never, ever. If DC10 is closed Circoloco is closed."
Why? Indeed. It defies belief that the Spanish government continues to single out DC10 for special treatment, that it continues to treat Ibiza's most important industry as if it were something to be ashamed of. Already the island is facing a quieter season than ever. So far, tourist numbers are 20,000 less than the same time last year. Club owners, promoters, bars, small businesses, hotels, taxi drivers… the entire economy of the island faces a crunch as the knock on effect from the after-hours ban is exacerbated by the economic downturn and unseasonable rain in the early season.
Ibiza needs DC10. These aren't just a couple of local discos, these are world-famous clubs that partiers from Argentina to Asia come specifically to visit. They are part of the lifeblood of the island.

Daar vrees ik nu echt niet voor al denk ik wel dat de scene er gaat veranderen.
Maar ik heb ook wel het gevoel van 'ik mis de typische sexy ibiza tribal sound van vroeger .. maar is wat mij betreft spijtig genoeg in hel Ibizal al het geval' Vroeger was het meer gay en zag je int centrum 's avond overal travestieten met dikke tieten lopen. Vanaf dat Cocoon enzo daar gesetteld zijn is de scene erg beginnen veranderen mijn gedacht. Toch blijven sommige clubs redelijk trouw aan hun eigen concepten.
Space met zijn carl Cox feest is ook nog steeds een topper in mijn ogen en heeft nog het meest variatie in zijn program. Hier kom je wel de locals en de spanjaarden tegen en op 5 augustus en 2 september jawel nog steeds de Carl Cox avonden!

Dat mis ik ook nu, vroeger had je over heel Ibiza die lekkere vette tribal sound, hetgeen Circoloco op de kaart heeft gezet ... nu blijft daar bijna niets meer van over ... idem voor de leuke feestjes die je had buiten de clubs, in de bergen, op verlaten stranden, dat heb je bijna allemaal niet meer.
Is wel grappig dat je dat zegt. Ik was voor het laatst in Ibiza 12 jaar geleden. Veel geclubbed, maar ik vond het bovenal ook een prachtig eiland.keimi schreef:... majja wat doet ge dan in Ibiza als ge geen club bezocht hebt
Aankomende zondag ga ik voor het eerst weer terug, met mijn eenjarige dochter
Ben vooral benieuwd naar Ses Trincha. Heb daar mooie momenten beleef. Zal nooit vergeten dat we daar 's middags aankwamen rechtstreeks uit Space en het personeel daar super relaxed aan het werken was met de cd van 'the police' op. De hele vibe was zo ontzettend laid back. Hopelijk is er nog wat over van dit speciale ibiza gevoel want imho zijn de clubs daar maar een onderdeel van.

Net terug van het mooie Eivissa. Zo genoten dat ik nog 3 dagen heb bijgeboekt.
Ben geen enkele keer wezen stappen, maar heb het ook helemaal niet gemist (ok, even dan op zondag moest ik aan space denken, Ben Watt!!!).
Heerlijk op Sa Trinxa gelegen. Behoorlijk wat drukker als 12 jaar geleden, heel wat meer kleren en minder pretsigaretten maar de vibe is er wel nog steeds.
Heb zelfs me nog met de resident een tijd bijgekletst over zijn tapes van 12 jaar geleden
Inmiddels is de man zelf een ibiza legende geworden (resident op zondag in space) en heeft niet een nieuwe cd op azuli uitgebracht 'balearic'.
Ook nog het nieuwe pacha 40yrs boek meegenomen (limited 8000 stuks) Check het uit voordat het uitverkocht is!
Heb weer een paar prachtige tunes gehoord die wellicht op het einde van de zomer hier doorbreken. Het blijft een magisch eiland.
